Time was running out on six-year-old Alya. A benign tumor in his neck was slowly choking him to death.
His parents watched helplessly as Alya struggled for breath. Like many other African families, all they could do was hope-and pray.
Their prayers were answered through generous friends like you. Because you support the life-changing work of Mercy Ships, Alya got the surgery he needed.
Dr. Neil Thomson, who led our volunteer surgical team, said the surgery came just in time. “He was a few months away from suffocating from this,” he said.
Alya’s future looks bright, but thousands of hurting people continue to depend on us for medical help. Please help show compassion to all of those who desperately need us.
