Dr Luke Choon-Wei Wee completed his medical training at the University of Auckland and had worked in different health settings in New Zealand and Australia.
‘Dr Luke’, as he is known on board, has been involved with Mercy Ships since 2014 when he spent 20 weeks volunteering as a Hospital Physician during the Congo field service. He continues to volunteer on board periodically.
‘Healthcare should be accessible by all, including the poor and the marginalised. This includes people living in far-flung places of the world, like West Africa’, he believes.
Dr Luke is currently based in South Auckland, working as a General Practitioner and Urgent Care physician.
