Transform a child's life today.

Your donation means the world to children like Aissatou. You’re about to give life-changing surgery, care, healing and more to kids in Africa’s most vulnerable communities.

Help Aissatou stop hiding.

Born with a cleft lip, it didn’t take Aissatou long to learn that she looked different to other children.

Deciding privacy was the best way to keep her safe, her parents draped a cloth over her face to cover her up in public. And when visitors from other villages arrived, Aissatou would be hidden away in a room.

A father's love.

Aissatou’s father, Ousmane, has visited every hospital in Senegal, searching for medical help for his daughters condition. And every time, they’ve told him that wee Aissatou’s cleft lip is beyond repair. That Aissatou will have to live with the stigma and hurt of being different, for the rest of her life.

Hope and healing.

The good news is that now Mercy Ships are visiting the area, a simple 90 minute surgery onboard can bring hope and healing to Aissatou.

But we urgently need your help to make it happen.

Who are Mercy Ships?

Founded in 1978, Mercy Ships is a pioneering faith-based global charity.  Our mission is to bring hope and healing to those in need.

Each year we send hospital ships filled with volunteer medical professionals who selflessly provide life-changing surgeries to children and adults who otherwise would go without. Whether performing surgery to remove a disfiguring tumour, cleaning the deck, or transporting patients, our crew makes a difference in the lives of struggling people every day they serve.

The Global Mercy and the Africa Mercy

Why a Ship? Accessing the Inaccessible

Since over 50% of the world’s population lives near a coast, our ships are the best way to reach people in need with personalised, state-of-the-art medical care.

Globally, 5 billion people lack access to safe surgery. With the support of people like you, we deploy hospital ships to combat this overwhelming statistic.

Many ways to bring hope & healing

There is so much hope to give, and so many ways to give it. From making a single donation to becoming a monthly donor or simply offering your prayers, your support has a great impact.
