Ponseti Coordinator, Australian Nick Veltjens, shares about the upcoming handover of the Mercy Ships club foot programme to our Malagasy partners:

“We are very proud of our trainees. They have definitely become like family. The trainees have held their own screening and have started to treat their own patients on approximately 19 club feet. There is no shortage of children needing treatment. New clubfoot patients are being referred to the clinic all the time.

The trainees now have the skills and ability to treat clubfeet very well. We are confident that when we leave, children with clubfeet will continue to treated and go on to have bright futures. This program has by far exceeded all our expectations.”
