Teachers all at sea

Teaching aboard the Mercy Ship in Africa is an adventure of a lifetime. Here’s your chance to be part of something amazing!

You could teach the crew children on board the surgery ship. The preschool to high school accredited international Christian school has small class sizes and big life experiences. We’re looking for all types of teachers, see the volunteer vacancies below.

Nurture growing minds in a variety of subjects. We’re looking for volunteer teachers with at least two years experience in the classroom to join the Mercy Ships crew, to teach students in kindergarten, primary and secondary classes for one to two years. Click to get started and see what’s involved.

My favourite thing about being these kids’ teacher is the fact that they already have a wealth of knowledge, and they are so engaged and ready to learn. It makes my job so much easier and much more fun when my students are excited. I love teaching on board in the Academy, it is amazing! The school environment is refreshing, and the parents, administration, and fellow teachers are incredibly supportive. New entrant teacher.

There are urgent vacancies now to teach onboard the ship for high school English, and Primary year 3. Check the application requirements online
