Fred and Maria, Lily, Connor and Asher are about to become crew on board the world’s largest civilian hospital ship.
Volunteering with Mercy Ships
The Kuo family will be full-time Mercy Ships’ volunteers for 2 years, from June 2023, as Maria serves as a Clinical Ward Supervisor. The family will be living on board the Global Mercy. Fred will serve on board in a part-time role while supporting Lily, Connor and Asher who will go to school in the Mercy Ships Academy.
How to be part of their support team
The Kuo family plays a special role in the Global Mercy crew, contributing to the important community dynamic on board. Without Maria doing her part managing the on-ship wards, our crew could not offer life-transforming surgeries to people in sub-Saharan Africa who can’t access the treatment they need.
