Michelle Knubley

My name is Michelle Knubley. I am born and raised in  Gisborne. I have been a nurse for 6 years. I have been working as a surgical nurse for the last 4 years in my local hospital.

I was looking for an opportunity to have a break from work  while doing something new and exciting.  I saw Mercy ship as a way to use my skills as a surgical nurse while  getting a chance to travel.

Last year I traveled to Senegal where I worked as a nurse on a surgical ward with adults and children in the speciality of orthopaedic, plastic and general surgery. This year I will be heading to Sierra Leone to meet the global mercy, where I will be working as a surgical ward again!
